Police Memorial Run

Thursday, September 26, 2013

For the sixth year in a row, Sheridan’s Police Foundations students participated in the National Peace Officers’ Memorial ‘Run to Remember’. Sheridan was well represented with 44 students accompanied by faculty members Tim Onyschuk, Jessica McLean, and Tanya Philp. The students ran the first 5km of the leg – serving officers will continue to Ottawa for a total of 460km over the next 3 days.  The objective of the run is to raise awareness and focus attention on the annual Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service held on Sunday at Parliament Hill. The Police Foundations students were welcomed by all in attendance and, were personally addressed by Inspector Brian Smithson of the Peel Regional Police.
