The latest Key Performance Indicators (KPI) survey results were released today and Sheridan continues to be a leader, both regionally and provincially, in preparing students for future success. Among GTA colleges, Sheridan ranked first in student satisfaction with the quality of the learning experience, and tied with another college for highest graduate satisfaction rate. Sheridan also achieved excellent results from employers; 94% of those surveyed were pleased with the quality of our graduates.
With an overall graduation rate of 69.2%, Sheridan continues to exceed the provincial average, a result that is even more marked in its degree programs, which achieved a graduation rate of 76.1% - well above the provincial average of 71.9%, and in line with the average for Ontario universities. Sheridan’s graduation rate for diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees and one-year post graduate programs outranked all other colleges in the Greater Toronto Area.
A look at graduate employment data also reveals a high rate of success for Sheridan degree graduates, who experienced a 90% employment rate. More importantly, survey results showed a high level of degree student satisfaction with the education they were experiencing at Sheridan, based on specific criteria. Over 87% of students surveyed indicated that they were satisfied that they were gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for their future careers, while 82% were pleased with the overall quality of the learning experiences in their programs.
“These positive results reflect our steadfast commitment to giving students a well-rounded education that blends theoretical with experiential learning, encourages collaboration and fosters creative and critical thinking skills, to prepare them for success in their chosen fields,” said Dr. Mary Preece, Sheridan’s President and Vice Chancellor.
The KPI survey was introduced by the Ontario government in 1998 to collect and report performance data on Ontario colleges. The survey is conducted by an independent research company.
